The material has to be durable. Teak, Spanish cedar or
Honduran mahogany are used to make these shades because everything else would
just simply crack, rot or swell due to moisture and water.
Uses and Advantages:
There is no better way to keep heat out on a sunny day than
an exterior window shutter. It's effective, because it stops sunlight before
going through your windows. It works by trapping the sunlight between two
sheets of glass which then prevents it from entering your room directly.
